IP 4500 Review 1

I did quite a lot of research before i went out to buy this printer, it was quite difficult since for every good review i read there's is the equivalent poor one. Anyway, i went for this printer and it's outstanding - I've been printing on proper gloss paper so the print quality is very very high. I have also printed Dvd's, which is a good function to have too. There is only one thing that slightly annoys me - the software that allows you to print onto the cd/dvd doesn't let you print all the way to the centre of the disc. So don't buy full-face discs, as there will only be a circle of white left inside which doesn't look very good. I've done quite a lot of printing since July, when i bought it, and haven't had to replace the ink yet. I hope this helps you in your purchase.

IP4500 Review 2

I had been using a iP3000 for a long time and was very happy with it - but when I swopped to Vista it stopped working properly - coincidence or built-in obsolescence? I am cynical!

So I bought the IP4500 which was delivered within two days and proved to be significantly better than the iP3000. As I use a laser my main reason for purchase was the DVD/CD print function which is just amazing!

The only down side is that everything about this printer is just a tiny bit different from the iP3000 so you can't keep spares, especially the print cartridges where only the addition of the chip changes them. It causes me to believe that Canon are solely interested in maximising profits so I am very suspicious of the demise of the old one.

That said, it is easily the lead printer in it's class and the old one was very efficient with its ink, so if this is as good I will probably bite the bullet and buy Canon cartridges.
